Facilities

The Foundation for Art & Design is currently looking for a place to call home. Borrowing a community engagement model from big cultural institutions in NYC, The Foundation for Art & Design wants to create a space in order to bring new opportunities to promote integration and personal and professional growth, with particular attention to children, young adults, and people with disabilities, making sure that we meet everyone where they are, covering everyone’s access needs so that what we offer has a positive impact on anyone and everyone in the community.

The Gallery Space

The Foundation for Art & Design will offer exhibitions and exhibition-related activities, workshops, sensorial experiences, etc., so visitors can deepen in how they process the art.

By hosting seminars in the space, we hope to bring learning opportunities for adults and young adults who might have some curiosity or a firm desire to build a career in the areas The Foundation for Art & Design has the most expertise. From curating an exhibition to learning about the museum world, and many more topics connected to our work, we will bring expert voices to share their knowledge and ideas

Through our teacher and artist training sessions, The Foundation for Art & Design will offer in its gallery space professional development for teaching artists, bringing a training program for community-based artists so then can work on the pedagogical tools needed to get into the classroom and meet students’ needs, with particular attention to the needs of those students with disabilities (both cognitive and physical).

Art & Design Library

We envision the art & design library to be a community based resource that fosters research and dialog around contemporary issues within the art and design communities.

Art Storage

By creating art storage in the same space as independent curators, we believe can offer our clients more than just a safe place to store their art while facilitating access to works that might not otherwise be available.
